Budget Breakdown
Team UHPS' budget is broken down into three subsystems shown by the table to the left. The electrical subsystem will be the the most costly due to the major improvements that are currently in plan. Following that, the powertrain subsystem plans to change its steering mechanism which will require new parts. Lastly, the structural subsystem plans to make changes to its interior cargo hold and security mechanism. Totaling the cost of all three subsystems, an estimate of $4,300 is achieved. Taking into account for any damages that may occur, a 15% margin is applied to bring the budget estimate to $4,715.
Funding Sources
To fund this project, Team UHPS has been researching various organizations for sponsorships. The College of Engineering - Mechanical Engineering Department has funded the team with $2,000 and is the only amount of funds acquired thus far. An application with UROP was sadly denied but we have hope that next semester will change. Since we have yet to reach the budget in funds, the team is still searching for any method of funding.
